Anthropic cost monitoring — no proxy, no SDK changes
The Anthropic console does not offer spending alerts or per-key limits. ModelBrake fills that gap.
What the Anthropic console is missing
The Anthropic console shows cumulative spend and per-model breakdowns, but has no alert system, no spend limits, and no anomaly detection. You find out about a spike when you check the console yourself — or when the invoice arrives.
For teams running Claude across multiple projects, there is no way to set per-key budgets or receive a notification when one project starts consuming disproportionately.
How ModelBrake monitors Anthropic spend
You provide a read-only admin API key. ModelBrake polls Anthropic's usage API every 15 minutes and records the spend. It computes the median of your trailing daily spend and fires an anomaly alert when the current day is running at 3× that median.
You can also set per-key spend ceilings. When a ceiling is crossed, you get a critical alert on the next poll. Opt in to revoke-on-breach and ModelBrake can disable the key automatically — using a separate write-scoped credential you provide explicitly.
One dashboard for every provider
Most teams use more than one provider. ModelBrake monitors OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, and Vercel from the same dashboard with the same alert rules. You see total spend across providers, per-provider breakdowns, and per-key anomalies — all in one place.
